AIMS:
  • Develop performance skills and networks between Surry Hills and Glebe residents
  • Facilitate creative expression, public presentation and group performance about local issues
  • Empower tenants and marginalised residents to present their perspectives in public

PROCESS:
Term 2- research creative interests, improvisation and communication exercises
Tern 3- translating texts, reading and performing Shakespeare st Belvoir st
Term 4- rehearsals, staging, presentation and planning public performances

WHERE:
An Outreach class at Glebe Café church and Northcott Community Centre.

Mondays 4-6pm, Fridays 10am-1pm

OUTCOMES:

  • Creative exchange and networks between residents of Glebe and Surry Hills
  • Café conversation with Bec Ronskon, Director of Milkcrate Theatre
  • Community performance and participation in playback theatre Losin It by Milkcrate Theatre
  • Performance of Shakespeare by Northcott at Belvoir St Theatre on 20th October
  • Participants interested in pursuing public performance and creative education
  • Presentations t community events- Mental health week, Mitchell St fair on the 6th December
